RE: Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update #38

I am writing to update you on the latest information regarding COVID-19 cases at Moravian Manor Communities (MMC) and update you on the vaccine administration.

Lancaster County’s “positivity rate” continues to decrease, but is still above ten percent. Therefore, MMC continues to test all employees two times per week. Weekly testing thus far has resulted in one positive employee. This employee is self- quarantining at home. In addition, we have two employees who are self-quarantining due to confirmed or possible COVID exposure. Presently, four residents on the Warwick Woodlands campus have tested positive for COVID-19. All four are self-quarantining in their homes.

On Tuesday, February 2, CVS vaccinated over 120 residents on the Founders Campus. While it takes many hands to make such an event work, I want to acknowledge Dr. Lynn Swisher’s efforts in securing the date. Also, Jennifer Shutt and Marcie Berhaupt coordinated a well-organized event. They pulled this off even with the vaccine arriving three hours late. We have learned of no severe side effects from this round of vaccinations.

We anticipate a vaccination clinic (time frame February 8 to February 18) for our residents on the Warwick Woodlands campus. Phoebe Pharmacy will provide the clinic. A firm date has not been established at the time of this writing.
