MMC’s Stitching for Hope Impacting Those in Need Globally

MMC’s Stitching for Hope Impacting Those in Need Globally

Stitching for Hope is a truly inspiring group of 35+ dedicated women from MMC. Their efforts touch every part of their comforter projects, from crafting tops and shopping for backing, to helping with knotting and generously contributing financially. Their collective spirit is remarkable!

Beyond just being beautiful, these comforters serve a much greater purpose. Once completed, they are donated to the Mennonite Central Committee, who packs and sends them across the globe. Places impacted by war. Earthquakes. Floods. Other disasters. When faced with unimaginable hardships, MMC is stitching some warmth and comfort back into people’s lives worldwide.

Alicia Fahnestock, Housekeeping

“I heartily and enthusiastically nominate Alicia Fahnestock for the Excellence in Customer Care Award. Alicia has provided outstanding service to me for several years. She not only cleans my apartment carefully and thoroughly on my scheduled weeks, but she also stops by my apartment on “off weeks” to empty my waste baskets. When her tasks are completed, she always asks if there is anything else that I need. She even asks when passing by me in the hallway! While cleaning my apartment, if there is something that I cannot reach, she will pick it up and hand it to me. She is so friendly and willing in her approach to service that I think of Alicia as a friend, not just an employee of MMC.

National Nursing Home Week & Nursing Competency Training

Celebrating National Nursing Home Week earlier this month, our team was treated to a week of appreciation … featuring a soft pretzel truck, new MMC t-shirts, and a special spring luncheon.

Beyond the fun, we also took time for competency training to continue growing our skills and connecting with one another.

Thank you to our amazing team members for your hard work and to those who organized such a great week. We’re already looking forward to next year!

Stacy Williams, Nursing

“Stacy consistently asks her coworkers if they need assistance with anything and is more than willing to lend a helping hand. She is kind to all the residents and is super helpful and understanding. It is for these simple but meaningful reasons why Stacy is so deserving of this recognition.”
