Bill Brightman, IT

“When MMC recently upgraded to new timeclocks, there were some communication challenges between Maintenance and IT. Bill willingly stepped in to bridge the gap. From the outset, he treated every maintenance team member with courtesy and respect – listening patiently to our concerns, answering every question, and making us true partners in the process. As a result, the installation proceeded smoothly, on schedule, and without any unplanned downtime.”

“Because of Bill’s dedication, what could have been a frustrating, drawn-out process instead became a seamless, confidence-building experience for everyone involved. His ability to combine technical expertise with patience and understanding has strengthened interdepartmental relationships, boosted morale, and set a new standard for customer service across our organization.”

MMC Town Hall Recognizes Team Members & Updates on Campus Improvement Projects

Big things are happening at MMC! We recently held a Team Member Town Hall to share a few updates and recognize our amazing staff and the vital role they play in our success. It was so inspiring to see survey results showing how supported our team members feel by their managers and colleagues. With a positive census across the board and lower staff turnover rates, our community is stronger than ever thanks to our dedicated team!

We are also thrilled to share updates on our campus improvements, including the enhanced outdoor recreation area on the Founders campus and the brand-new Commons building coming soon to the Warwick Woodlands campus. The future is bright and we are just getting started!

2026 Mildred Bender Awards

2026 Mildred Bender Awards

Congratulations to the 2026 Mildred Bender Awardees! For over 30 years, MMC has proudly celebrated this cherished tradition of honoring individuals who embody the very best of our community. This esteemed award recognizes outstanding service and unwavering dedication to exemplifying MMC’s mission, vision, and core values – qualities that make our organization truly special.

This year, we are thrilled to recognize three remarkable individuals (pictured from top to bottom):

  • Tom Keany, honored as Team Member
  • Joe Sullivan, recognized as Resident
  • Lori Long, celebrated as Volunteer

Each of these awardees has made a meaningful impact through their exceptional commitment and service. Please join us in congratulating Tom, Joe, and Lori on this well-deserved honor!

The Mildred L. Bender Memorial Fund was established by a loving and grateful family in tribute to a women whose life and work exemplified a spirit of ministry to others. A lifelong member of the Moravian Church, Mrs. Bender spent her final years as a resident of Moravian Manor Communities, where her comfort and concern for others left a lasting impression. Following her death in 1994, a memorial fund was established in an effort to perpetuate the cherished values she held so dear.

The purpose of the fund is twofold to …

  1. Assist MMC residents in need through benevolent care.
  2. Annually recognize the outstanding service of a Moravian Manor Communities resident, volunteer, and employee who best exemplify MMC’s mission, vision, and core values.

Johanna Torres-Maldenado, Nursing (Med-Tech for Personal Care)

“Johanna is an excellent caregiver. She goes above and beyond every day she comes to work. Recently, she provided a true “spa experience” for a MMC resident. This resident loved being pampered and spoke about the experience (multiple times) the next day when her family came to visit. All of the staff that work with Johanna can count on her to not only complete her job during her shift, but often offer better ways to accomplish each task. She is a true asset to MMC and our Personal Care household.”

Lancaster-Lebanon IU13 Community Education Visit

Lancaster-Lebanon IU13 Community Education Visit

We were thrilled to welcome the Lancaster-Lebanon IU13 Community Education Direct Care Provider class to our campus. This incredible workforce preparation program offers students a unique three-in-one opportunity, combining adult education skill-building with hands-on healthcare training. Many of these dedicated students are English language learners who previously worked in healthcare in their home countries and are now working hard to restart their careers here. The training is co-taught by experienced professionals from CSG, ensuring students receive industry-relevant instruction that prepares them for real-world success.

During the final two weeks of the program, students visit various healthcare settings to explore different environments and find the best fit for their individual career goals. We were honored to be part of their journey and showcase what makes our team special. Last year, we were fortunate to welcome a graduate of this program into our workforce, and they have become a valued member of our care team. We look forward to continuing this wonderful partnership and welcoming even more talented graduates as they embark on their healthcare careers.
