Record-Breaking $168k Raised for 2025 McSparran Employee Holiday Fund

With heartfelt thanks to all residents and families, we celebrated a record-breaking $168,500 raised for the 2025 McSparran Employee Holiday Fund this year. All non-salaried MMC staff benefitted from your kindness, with funds distributed according to longevity and hours worked in their December 5th paycheck. Your generosity brought holiday cheer to our incredible team members— the nurses, housekeepers, launderers, dining staff, maintenance and landscape crews, and so many others who make MMC shine. The Silver Tenders Model Train Club is thrilled to announce its much-anticipated 2025 Holiday Open House, showcasing a dazzling new interactive display that promises to delight train enthusiasts of all ages.

 

The Silver Tenders train yard is a treasure trove of nostalgia – featuring trains that are nearly 100 years old alongside modern marvels. With an impressive array of gauges – including “O,” “HO,” “S,” and “N” – our meticulously rebuilt layouts offer something for every train lover. Guests will enjoy seeing legendary brands like Lionel and American Flyer, along with many other manufacturers, as they whiz around multiple platform levels. Many of these intricate models are equipped with DCC and Bluetooth remote control for an immersive experience.

The Silver Tenders Model Train Club has been a beloved part of MMC for several years, and our dedicated club members take immense pride in building and maintaining this enchanting display. They will be on hand throughout the open house to operate the trains, engage with visitors, and answer any questions, making it a perfect outing for families and model train enthusiasts alike.

Admission is FREE – Saturday, December 20, 10 am – 3 pm! Follow the signs to our train station on Lemon Street at Moravian Manor Communities and prepare for an unforgettable experience.
