Jess is our first Excellence in Customer Care recipient to receive two nominations!

“Throughout my time as a team member of Moravian Manor Communities, I have witnessed on numerous occasions Jess caring for the residents in a way that I think stands outside of her normal duties as a CNA. The way in which she interacts with residents and offers them comfort when it is most needed, I feel should be recognized. As we know, with the varying stages of dementia and Alzheimer’s that many of our residents suffer, there are moments of anxiousness and confusion. Jess has a wonderful ability to redirect in those moments, calming the residents and allowing them to go about the day in a more peaceful manner.”

Nicole exemplifies two of our core values…People First and Communication. She treats everyone—whether resident, visitor, or staff—with dignity and respect. She recently interacted with a resident who arrived too late for a birthday party. Seeing the disappointment, Nicole took it upon herself to wrap up a special piece of cake for her in a small to-go box. Her attentiveness to the needs of residents, and sweet touches like this, makes Nicole such an asset to the MMC team.

“One evening I was called to change out a bed and mattress on the Health Center unit.  George Kalajorgadis, CNA, happened to be working in the same area and without hesitation he immediately started to help me exchange the old bed and mattress with the new.

I truly appreciated George’s unsolicited help as well as his smile, patience, and demeanor as he assisted me with my work. He stepped out of his way and went above and beyond to help a fellow co-worker. What a great example of “People First,” one of MMC’s core values.”

“Our family held two gatherings, Christmas and Easter, in the Garden Court dining room. Chef Terry Wilson was our main contact for both of events. He went above and beyond to plan, prepare, and cook these special meals … paying close attention to food preferences (gluten free and vegetarian). The food was delicious and the presentation was memorable! Terry’s hard work, kindness, and professionalism did not go unnoticed. We also want to extend our thanks to the wait staff for their attentiveness too. For my family, food, emotions, stories, music, young children, and memories are inextricably intertwined.  Thank you, Chef Terry, for your presence in our lives.”

“Curlee truly exemplifies what it means to put others first and go the extra mile. One occasion specifically stands out when I had a customer with a severe fish allergy and had concerns about cross-contamination. When I shared this information with Curlee, he made sure the customer’s burger was cooked separately to avoid any contamination, and retrieved a clean spatula just for that customer. It’s this level of dedication and attention to detail that sets him apart.”

“Curlee is deserving of this award because of his unwavering, positive attitude. No matter the situation, he always maintains a kind and professional demeanor. If something goes wrong in the kitchen, Curlee’s response is always, “We can fix that, sorry about that!” This reassurance and willingness to take responsibility is truly admirable. He understands the importance of customer satisfaction and is willing to do whatever it takes to make things right.”
